In 2007, the state legislature adopted a law that allows for communities to develop a “Tourism Business Improvement District" (TBID). Currently there are 13 communities in Montana with established TBIDs and many others in the process or considering TBIDs. The following sample documents are meant to provide you, the hospitality community, hoteliers, chambers/CVBs, local government, and others general templates or ideas for creating similar documents in your community.
The Billings TBID has provided the resource documents posted below. If other TBIDs would like to post sample documents or you would like to receive a copy of any document in Word so that you can easily edit it, please contact Jenny at the MLHA office - 406-449-8408 or jennyb@montana.com.
Montana cities that currently have TBIDs are: Billings, Butte Silver Bow, Gallatin Valley (Bozeman), Glasgow, Glendive, Great Falls, Havre, Helena, Kalispell, Lewistown, Livingston, Miles City, Missoula, Ravalli County, Red lodge, Shelby, Sidney, Thoreau, and West Yellowstone.
